In a quiet neighborhood, behind an unassuming façade, lies a residence that captures the delicate balance between restraint and richness. Designed as a primary home for a family seeking calm and connection, the interiors reveal a story in layers—measured, nuanced, and deeply personal.

The aesthetic is rooted in timelessness: a restrained palette of soft neutrals punctuated by natural woods, hand-finished marble, and tactile textiles. “We weren’t looking to make a statement,” says Design Solutions CEO, Luciana Fragali. “We wanted to create an atmosphere that feels elevated yet livable. Comfortable, but never casual.”
The result is a space that carries itself with quiet confidence, where every surface and silhouette feels intentional. From the initial conversations, the clients shared a vision for a home that could adapt to the shifting rhythms of family life.
They wanted a layout that would feel equally suited to intimate evenings and larger family gatherings. Just as importantly, they emphasized functionality—comfort without compromise and storage solutions that didn’t disrupt the home’s clean lines.
The architectural flow of the home was essential to that intention. While the structure remained largely intact, key areas were reimagined to better support both form and function. The foyer was reshaped with a custom slatted wood partition that gently frames the space while hinting at what lies beyond. It sets the tone from the very first step: architectural, warm, and quietly sculptural.

In the family room, custom built-ins and integrated media elements create a refined, livable hub that supports daily routines without sacrificing visual calm.

In the primary bathroom, soothing natural tones and sculptural fixtures create a true sense of retreat, with ambient lighting that transforms throughout the day.

A Dining Room Suspended in Light
In the dining room, a linear light fixture anchors the space, mirroring the horizontal lines of the custom millwork. It’s sculptural yet subtle, adding definition and depth without competing with the room’s warm materials.

“The fixture was selected as more than just a light source—it’s a sculptural centerpiece,” explains Fragali. “It draws the eye upward, playing with proportion and lightness, while still contributing functionally to the space.” Its tone, warmth, and position create a perfect counterpoint to the weight of the custom dining table, and together they anchor the room with both grace and clarity.
Custom Craftsmanship, Personalized Details
Much of the home’s character emerges from its custom elements: millwork designed for both storage and scale, partitions that establish architectural rhythm, and furnishings tailored to fit both space and lifestyle. Every element was crafted with precision—from the lacquered cabinetry finishes that shift subtly in changing light, to doors designed with dual finishes that transition seamlessly between rooms.

Even rooms like the home office and powder room were given dedicated attention. The office was envisioned as a focused, distraction-free zone with tactile finishes and calming tones, while the powder room uses bold materials and specialty lighting to stand apart, making a small space feel intentionally dramatic.

Art with Meaning
Art played a foundational role in shaping the emotional texture of the home. Several works were sourced collaboratively throughout the design process, but others were deeply personal—pieces brought by the clients or selected for their significance. Each one was placed with care, often anchoring entire rooms or marking transitions between them.
“There’s a large piece in the main living space that continues to stop me in my tracks,” Fragali says. “Its palette, its interaction with the light—it doesn’t just fill a wall, it brings the room to life.”

Crafting Calm Through Collaboration
As with any bespoke project, challenges inevitably arose—from shifting timelines and material delays to the precision needed for such clean, minimalist detailing. Some finishes had to be re-specified mid-process, and unexpected site conditions called for real-time solutions that couldn’t have been anticipated on paper.
Yet through every twist, the collaboration between the clients and the design team remained steady. “The trust we had made all the difference,” Fragali reflects. “It let us adapt without ever losing sight of what we wanted this home to be.”
A Home That Evolves with Time
In the end, the result is more than just a well-crafted house — it’s a living space designed to grow alongside its family. It feels calm yet dynamic, layered yet clear, built to age gracefully while staying true to the original vision.

“There’s a moment when you step through the slatted partition and the dining room reveals itself,” Fragali adds. “The way the light hits, the materials align—it feels cinematic, but real. That moment says everything about this home.”
What began as an idea of refined modernism became something more personal and enduring —a testament to thoughtful collaboration, timeless materials, and the subtle power of restraint.
