In a quiet retreat in the sky, Italian artistry meets the vibrant energy of Miami, Florida. In collaborating with this client, Luciana Fragali and her Design Solutions team fulfilled a vision for a space that felt understated yet luxurious. This inspired a careful selection of organic tones, rich textures, and a warm, layered palette – embodying timeless elegance that reflects the signature sophistication of Armani Casa. Presented as a true blank canvas without structural limitations, the Design Solutions team approached the design with complete creative freedom.
Upon entering the space, the eye is immediately drawn to the right, where a striking piece of contemporary art commands attention against a subtly textured wall. The artwork’s bold colors and abstract forms provide a vibrant contrast to the wall’s muted palette, setting a tone of sophisticated eclecticism. The open-plan living and dining area unfolds seamlessly from there to encourage flow, creating a space that accommodates different rhythms of life from gathering to entertaining and unwinding. The space is bathed in natural light streaming through floor-to-ceiling windows, framing an expansive yet serene ocean view.
A sleek island anchors the kitchen and dining section of the space, its clean lines and minimalist design highlighting a commitment to both form and function. Integrated appliances and refined cabinetry contribute to the kitchen’s elegant simplicity, with open shelving displaying curated decorative objects and greenery that enliven the space.
Anchoring the dining area is a striking oval table, its sleek surface contrasting beautifully with the warmth of the woven chairs surrounding it. Above, a pendant light commands attention, its delicate yet sculptural form casting a soft, ambient glow. Custom-designed wall units with vertical fluted detailing and hidden lighting extend throughout the open-plan living space, serving as architectural features in their own right.
Bathed in the luminous glow of the Miami sun, the living area reveals a composition of subtle sophistication. Textured, delicately patterned cushions adorn a plush, generously proportioned sofa in a warm grey. Across from it stands a striking media console crafted from a dramatic, dark veined stone making a bold statement while seamlessly integrating a television nestled amongst trailing greenery.
A low-slung coffee table featuring contrasting materials and geometric forms serves as a central gathering point for entertaining guests. A pair of mid-century inspired armchairs in warm cognac leather, with their distinctive silhouettes, add a touch of retro charm into the contemporary space wrapped in custom millwork that grounds the home in refinement and visual depth.
A light-toned floor on the terrace blends the boundary between the indoor and outdoor, opening the home up to an open-air sanctuary. Lounge seating with plush grey cushions and matching ottomans invites relaxation and the enjoyment of the breathtaking ocean and cityscape views. Accents of natural materials, such as the woven side table and the textured details of the furniture frames, harmonize a contemporary structure with an organic feel.
The refined minimalist aesthetic shines through in the carefully selected materials and textures of the powder room. A unique and distinctive geometric wallpaper in a metallic champagne hue adds subtle glamour to this intimate space, complementing the soft curves of the oval mirror suspended above a sleek, wall-mounted vanity. The harmonious combination of light wood stone finishes and brushed metal elements further exemplifies the commitment to understated luxury throughout the design.
In the principal bedroom, a refined bed framed by a striking wood-paneled headboard is flanked by floating nightstands. The warmth of the nightstands’ wooden tones is enhanced by the soft glow of the lamps that illuminate the space. Balancing aesthetics and function, a minimalist bench at the foot of the bed and built-in cabinetry provide discreet storage to maintain a serene atmosphere. The curation of patterns featured in decorative pillows and an area rug adds a layer of visual texture without taking away from the tranquil ambiance of a room designed for rest and rejuvenation.
This curation of visual layers and textures is also at play in the secondary bedroom, where similarly patterned pillows are paired with a more neutral textured throw. Vibrant teal velvet upholstery for the twin beds injects a pop of color and conveys a sense of playfulness in the space, complemented by a textured wallpaper in a warm, earthy hue.

Guided by a passion for design and architecture Luciana Fragali first pursued her studies in architecture and interior design in her native Brazil and later received a degree in interior design at the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute before launching her design firm, Design Solutions, in 2005. Luciana Fragali, who has owned Miami-based Design Solutions for 15 years, has completed over 400 high-end residential and commercial projects to date. As such she has a unique set of influences from which her sophisticated, sumptuous, and refreshing brand has blossomed.
